What is eliciting and why is it so important in the process of teaching English?
First of all it creates Learner-Centred Environment - This approach shifts the focus from teacher-centred instruction to student-centred learning, promoting active participation and engagement.
The next idea is that it develops critical thinking skills - Eliciting encourages students to think independently and draw connections between new and existing knowledge.
And finally, it is a perfect diagnostic tool for teachers - Eliciting helps teachers assess students’ current knowledge levels, identify gaps, and tailor lesson plans correctly.
During the workshop we will look at some more advantages of eliciting and discuss possible problems with implementing these techniques in the process if teaching English.
